  • Discuss preventing, identifying, and treating PTSD

  • Explore the symptoms of PTSD

  • History of PTSD (identifying, naming, history). Police Officer vs. Veteran

  • Discuss the evolution of understanding, labeling and treating trauma and the current understanding of PTSD – Acute Stress Disorder that is predominately adopted from a Military Veteran Model.  What applies to Police Officers and what are unique issues that need to address differently.

  • Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR etc. Medications
